Appling Healthcare Trustee Lee Lewis was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA). Lewis will serve as a governing board member, where his duties will include working with the Board to develop strategies for GHA hospital members, advocating for the highest quality care for patients, and supporting adequate reimbursement for hospitals.
“Lee Lewis is deeply involved in his community and understands the important role Georgia’s hospitals play in the wellness of their communities,” said GHA President and CEO Caylee Noggle. “We are fortunate to have him on our Board and look forward to his service.”
Lewis serves as chairman of the Coastal Pines Technical College Board, secretary of the Appling County Hospital Authority, executive board member for the Coastal Georgia Council BSA, and treasurer of the Appling County Tourism Board. He previously served as County Manager for Appling County.
Lewis is the city market executive and senior vice president for Pineland Bank in Baxley, where he oversees all branch operations in Baxley, including retail and commercial as well as loans and deposits. He has served in this role for nearly four years and is also a commercial lender. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

The mission of GHA is to advance the health of individuals and communities by serving as the leading advocate for all Georgia hospitals and health care systems. GHA represents its members before the General Assembly and Congress, as well as state and federal regulatory agencies, and is an allied member of the American Hospital Association.
