The Medical-Surgical Unit at Appling Healthcare Systems provides care to patients who are hospitalized with a wide variety of conditions. Our caregivers also prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide the post-surgical care required until the time of discharge. The Medical-Surgical floor has the ability to care for 8 patients requiring telemetry. The unit can provide care for up to 25 patients, with 21 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms. Our nursing staff has a wide range of training and experience, providing treatment for those ranging in age from pediatric to end of life.
The Medical-Surgical staff utilizes a team approach in caring for our patients. The direct care team includes Physicians, Surgeons, Hospitalists, RN’s, and Nursing Assistants. Doctors, Case Managers, Dieticians, and Pharmacists, along with Physical, Occupational, Speech and Respiratory Therapists assist in developing a plan of care to fit the individual needs of each patient.
Nurses at Appling Healthcare Systems provide care with respect for human dignity. We believe that each patient has the right to receive quality care based on their individual needs and age requirements. Patients and their families are involved and welcomed to participate in the patient’s care.
A goal of the Medical-Surgical unit staff is to provide efficient, quality, individualized, and comprehensive nursing care to all patients.
