Hurricane Helene: Post-Storm Updates

09/27/2024

8:15 a.m.

Appling Healthcare’s EMS is now able to respond to calls. However, we need them to be able to make their way safely through.

From Appling County EMA’s Facebook page:

“PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT ON THE STREETS/ROADS IN BAXLEY AND APPLING CO. HUNDREDS OF TREES AND POWERLINES ARE DOWN. IT IS GOING TO TAKE HOURS TO MAKE IT SAFE FOR YOU TO TRAVEL. PLEASE SHARE OR COPY AND PASTE THIS POST TO YOUR PAGE.”

Yes, please stay off the roads! Even though the storm has slowed down, it’s not safe!

The hospital’s Emergency Department remains open. However, all outpatient services and clinics are closed until further notice. Please utilize the hospital for emergencies only at this time.

Appling Healthcare’s facilities have experienced some damage but all hospital patients, Pavilion residents and staff are safe.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers along with everyone else affected by this massive storm.
